Defective Trex Decking Lawsuit

CLG is investigating claims for a class action suit against Trex Company. Trex manufactures and sells composite decking. The Virginia-based company advertises that "maintenance problems that come with wood decks don't come with Trex." Yet owners of Trex decking have complained of rotting, discoloration, and even mold shortly after the time of purchase.

With over 10 years in the decking industry, consumers expect that Trex would live up to its claims about its decking material. Instead, it is alleged that Trex knew that it was experiencing manufacturing issues and that its decking was defective, yet it continued to warrant that "Trex products shall be free from material defects in workmanship and materials, and shall not check, split, splinter, rot or suffer structural damage from termites or fungal decay."

Many homeowners spend extra money to enjoy the benefits of low-maintenance composite decking. But Trex customers certainly did not bargain for decks that rot, discolor, and develope mold shortly after the time of purchase. Accordingly, as our investigation continues, we ask anyone who has purchased Trex decking to contact us if your deck has exhibited any defects. Contact us if you have problems with your Trex deck.
